The partnership

Communitybuilders is a joint programme between Communities and Local Government and the Office of the Third Sector and is lead by the Adventure Capital Fund and brought to you by The Social Investment Business and The Community Alliance.

The Adventure Capital Fund (ACF), developed by the community sector, is an ambitious investment fund that supports growth and success in community enterprises. By offering a combination of financial investments and expert support, it backs community enterprises that could make a real difference to their local community and help them to become stable, soundly run businesses that will survive long into the future.

The Social Investment Business is the largest social investor in the UK. Its aim is to substantially improve the financial and strategic capability of the third sector so that it can play an ever greater role in improving the lives of the people and communities it serves. It helps the sector prosper through better access to finance, business support and long term strategic thinking.

The Community Alliance supports community anchor organisations and is a partnership of bassac (the British Association of Settlements and Social Action Centres), Community Matters and the Development Trusts Association.
